Interconnected Advanced Facilities - "They're not just the future - they're the now."
Nature's systems have evolved over millions of years, finely tuned to balance and recycle resources seamlessly. Replicating that requires 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. Great things can happen when neighbouring advanced industries are situated in planned industrial zones allowing for the 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 of excess energy - with hassle-free pre-approved power, data fibre and heat network connections.
#EnergySharingNetworks help optimise resource use and reduce waste. #DataCentreParks integrate renewable energy and smart heating-cooling solutions. #EaaS (𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞) transforms energy management by offering flexible, sustainable solutions without hefty capital investment. #Microgrids provide resilience by allowing localised energy generation and distribution.
Together, these innovations are driving a sustainable energy revolution for energy-intensive industries, cutting costs and future-proofing operations.

Examples include:
• Stockholm Data Parks' advanced infrastructure offering in collaboration with district heating/cooling, electricity and dark fibre providers.
• 𝐊𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐠 𝐄𝐜𝐨-𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤 boasts an array of upcycling initiatives shared between 12 industries - the electric company gives excess heat to factories. The organic waste of a biology plant yields biogas for the refinery. Pharmaceutical sludge is sent to farmers to fertilize crops. The steam that was initially a byproduct for the electric utility is now the main product and income driver, etc.
• JLL's study "𝐈𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬: 3 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐏𝐀𝐂' sheds light on the benefits of '𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐝-𝐮𝐩 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠' during site selection. https://lnkd.in/dJTg47BR
• British Sugar adopts a circular economy approach to minimise waste and maximise resource efficiency. They transform their waste streams into a variety of valuable products, including animal feed, ethanol, fertilizers, renewable energy, topsoil, pesticides and flavouring ingredients.
By integrating renewable energy solutions and fostering 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 among industries, these initiatives represent a significant step towards a more sustainable and efficient future whilst at the same time maintaining the continuous drive for enhanced sustainability, energy efficiency and waste minimisation. #reduce, #reuse, #recycle
