Biyat actively supports the #GreenHydrogen revolution
Biyat Energy & Environment Ltd actively supports the #greenhydrogenrevolution with a focus on decarbonisation, technological advancement and energy storage innovations.
We actively collaborate with project developers and offer support on a variety of critical work streams which include techno-sustainability assessments, feasibility studies and project development relating to;
⁍ The use of PGM free catalysts such as CoP, MoSx, MoP, CuMo, NiMo and the use of non-precious metal oxide catalysts.
⁍ Decoupled / Membrane-Free electrolysis (E.g. ‘E-TAC’).
⁍ Waste heat integration into district heating systems.
⁍ The use of dual-metrics to measure holistic electrolyser energy efficiency (kWh/kg H2) and production rate (Nm3/h), enabling assessments of varying operational scenarios.
⁍ Production system design considering future decommissioning needs.
⁍ The introduction of hybrid PV-BESS-Electrolyser systems to increase power availability and production uptime.
⁍ QHSE optimisation and SOP development of small electrolyser systems to enable large-scale, continuous hydrogen production.
⁍ The suitability of salt caverns for excess hydrogen storage in periods of high renewable energy production.
⁍ CapEx / OpEx reduction opportunities, i.e. compressor-less PEMEL technologies.
⁍ Membrane degradation mitigation techniques including the use of high resistance Nafion™ materials and biodegradable alternatives including cellulose and PVA blend based membranes.
⁍ EIAs concerning advanced materials (i.e. in electrodes & membranes) and protective coatings as used in bipolar plates, catalysts, solid electrolytes etc. Including their application methods such as APS, VPS, HVOF - considering emissions, energy consumption, material efficiency, waste generation & occupational safety, etc.
⁍ The use of ‘green synthesis material manufacturing’ for the above plus end-of-life management.
⁍ The introduction of novel processes such as Rapid Flash Joule Heating (RFJH) providing catalyst-free yields of hydrogen from plastic waste.
